Organization Structure of IFTAJ

The Federation of Journalists and Authors of Tourism operates through a carefully designed organizational structure that ensures efficient governance and broad representation of its international membership. This structure reflects our commitment to democratic principles and professional excellence in tourism content creation.

At the apex of our organization stands the General Assembly, comprising representatives from all ordinary member associations. This body serves as the ultimate decision-making authority within IFTAJ, meeting annually to set strategic directions and make key decisions about the federation's future. Each member association's voting power is determined by their size and contribution, ensuring fair representation while maintaining operational efficiency.

The Executive Board, led by our President and supported by Vice Presidents representing distinct geographical areas, manages IFTAJ's day-to-day operations and implements the General Assembly's strategic decisions. Each Vice President brings regional expertise and perspectives, ensuring that our federation's actions reflect the diverse needs of our global membership. This leadership team serves four-year terms, with elections staggered to ensure continuity in governance.

Supporting the Executive Board, our Secretary General oversees the administrative functions of the federation, coordinating international activities and ensuring smooth communication between all organizational levels. The Secretary General's office manages member relations, coordinates events, and maintains official documentation, serving as the operational hub of FEJAT.

Our organizational structure includes specialized Working Groups focusing on key areas such as International Relations, Digital Innovation, Professional Standards, and Training. These groups, comprising experts from various member associations, develop initiatives and recommendations in their respective fields, driving innovation and excellence across the federation.

Technical Committees play a vital role in our structure, addressing specific aspects of tourism content creation. These committees, staffed by industry experts from our membership, develop guidelines, standards, and best practices that help shape the future of tourism communication. Their work ensures that FEJAT remains at the forefront of professional excellence and innovation.

Regional Coordination Offices facilitate cooperation among member associations within specific geographical areas. These offices help implement federation initiatives at the regional level, organize local events, and ensure effective communication between national associations and FEJAT's central leadership.

The Board of Auditors, elected by the General Assembly, provides independent oversight of IFTAJ's financial management and operations. This body ensures transparency and accountability in all financial matters, reporting annually to the General Assembly on the federation's fiscal health.

Our structure also includes an Advisory Council comprising distinguished professionals and experts in tourism communication. This body provides strategic guidance to the Executive Board and helps maintain IFTAJ's connection with key stakeholders in the global tourism industry.

To ensure effective operation across linguistic boundaries, IFTAJ maintains multilingual communication channels in our four official languages: English, French, Spanish, and Italian. This multilingual approach extends throughout our organizational structure, facilitating inclusive participation from all member associations.
